About SMI

The name Seraphim was adopted based on Isaiah 6, whereby the seraphim purged the prophet Isaiah’s lips with hot coal from the altar as a form of atonement for Isaiah’s sins, so that he may be the mouthpiece for God, speaking to a harden-hearted people. Dr. Yolie Massenburg believes that all Believers have a divine purpose in Christ and in order to walk out each one’s mission learning the Word of God is essential. Like the hot coal the Word of God purges, proving what is needed to equip Leaders/Believers for work in ministry. Seraphim Ministries International Bible Institute (now Bible College) was established September 2005 in Petersburg, Virginia. SMIBC existed as a non-degree granting school of adult education, primarily for lay people and ministers, designed to provide advanced training and equipping in biblical and doctrinal studies, ministry skills and leadership skills so they may be prepared to do the “work of the ministry.” Establishing Bible classes for individuals interested in spiritual growth, Bible application and works in ministry. In August 2012, Seraphim Ministries International Bible Institute acquired accreditation through the World-Wide Accrediting Commission located in Richmond, Virginia. Officially, Seraphim Ministries International Bible Institute is established as a degree offering institute where Bachelor, Master and Doctorate Degrees can be obtained by students after course work is completed. Seraphim Ministries International Bible College is a religious institution exempt from state regulation and oversight in the Commonwealth of Virginia. SMIBC also offer workshops and leadership seminars to better equip men and women in ministry and discipleship.

Our Vision Our Call

A. Mission

1. DISCIPLINE – To disciple and equip ministers who will GO and do likewise (Matthew 28:18-20, Ephesians 4:11-16).

2. DEGREE – To prepare and/or recognize ministers for their ministerial labors and school experience rendering honor to them (Romans 13:7, 1 Timothy 5:17).

3. DUPLICATE – To commit to faithful men and women the basics of Christian character, growth and ministry for reproduction – duplication – of these truths and materials to others, who will in turn commit the same to others who will also do the same, which in turn, will MULTIPLY the Word of God, as well as the work of the ministry (2 Timothy 2:2)!

B. Model

1. PERSONALLY – To personally model the above, teach it, and release it to others to do the same, just as Jesus and Paul did (2 Timothy 2:3-7, Acts 1:1, 2 Timothy 2:2).

2. PRACTICALLY – To establish and extend God’s Kingdom on earth through preaching and demonstrating the Gospel of grace, teaching it to others, and releasing them into ministry to do the same (Matthew 6:9, 28:20, Mark 16:15-20, Luke 24:44-49, Acts 1:8, 20:24,32, 2 Timothy 2:2).

Doctrinal Statement

1. God is the infinite personal Spirit, who has revealed Himself as a Trinity in unity, existing eternally as Father, Son, and Spirit—three persons and yet but one God.

2. The Bible, including both the Old and the New Testaments, is a divine revelation, the original autographs of which were inspired by the Holy Spirit, so that the words were kept from error.

3. Jesus Christ is the image of the invisible God, which is to say, He Himself is God; He took upon Him our nature, being conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of a virgin named Mary; He died upon the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice for the sins of the world; He arose from the dead in the body in which He was crucified; He ascended into heaven in that body glorified, where He is now, our interceding high priest; He will come again personally and visibly to set up His kingdom and to judge the quick and the dead.

4. Man was created in the image of God, but fell into sin, and in that sense is lost; this is true of all men, and except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God; salvation is by grace through faith in Christ who His own self bore our sins in His own body on the tree (1st Peter 2:24); the retribution of the wicked and unbelieving and the reward of the righteous are everlasting; and as the reward is conscious, so is the retribution.

5. The church is an elect company of believers baptized by the Holy Spirit into one body, each believer living his life in the power of the Holy Spirit; its mission being to witness concerning its Head, Jesus Christ, and teach and preach the gospel among all nations. 6. The entire program of Christian training is evangelical. It finds its reason for being, and its goal, in bringing the individual to a personal acceptance of Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, in helping the Christian grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord, and in equipping Christians for more effective service.
